Sake was chosen for his tall Sporthorse body type, not the heavy Baroque type, and for his "stamina" bloodlines. Long legs, short backed, nice croup, beautiful head and neck. Excellent conformation. Tall...16.3h and still growing! He will mature to over 17h, as Friesians grow until they are 7 yrs old. He has a lot of feathers and hair. He is TRUE blue/black. Even in the strong summer sun, he does not fade!

His movement is very forward and powerful, with exceptional hock engagement, free shoulder, extension and ground covering stride with tons of suspension. Sake has so much athletic agility for such a tall boy. He will excel in dressage AND driving. His trot and canter under saddle is phenomenal!!!

Sake has a noble presence about him. He is showy, yet so sweet and kind. He tries so very hard to please, and is so very gentle. He is bright, intelligent and loving. His temperament is surreal.

We have high expectations for Sake, and are very excited about him.

     Sake has proven, through his training that he has the traits we want to pass on to offspring... Trainability, ridability, exceptional work ethic, patience, soundness and the most important... temperament.

2008 KEURING:

     Sake was presented at the 2008 Keuring for his Ster. We were uncertain if we should have waited, as he has not fully matured, being so tall ,hitting a growth spurt, lost weight and only 3 yrs. old. Even though the judges commented on his excellent conformation, they said he did not show well this day. Sake was very nervous and sucked back in his movement. Not having runners that had any experience in hand did not help either. Many were very disappointed that he didn't get to show his excellent movement as another stallion did, in his class, at Liberty. Thank you to all who shared their disappointment in Sake not getting the same options and fairness , but reassured me he was special!

KEURING 2008 3 yrs old:

     Sake will be presented in the future to other Friesian Approvals and WB Registries and will compete in dressage.

     Sake is now taking time off for the winter to just "be" and do some more growing. A well deserved rest.

 In 2008, over 437 horses were declared FHANA Friesian all breeds competitors for the year end awards.

Sake has not stood at stud as of yet. We believe it is more important to get his training underway and to start proving himself for trainability, ridability, work ethic, temperament and soundness first. Traits that responsible breeders want to pass on to offspring. He will be offered next spring (2009) for breeding to a limited number of approved mares. A/I and possible frozen.
